Anthony L. Leonis is an Associate Attorney in the firm’s Water Law and Special Districts Department. A proud Bakersfield native, Anthony’s roots in California’s Central Valley run deep. He graduated from Bakersfield Christian High School before earning his undergraduate degree in Political Science with an emphasis in Pre-Law from California State University, Bakersfield. He later relocated to Santa Barbara to pursue his Juris Doctor from The Santa Barbara College of Law.

While in law school, Anthony distinguished himself through multiple clerkships that honed his legal research, analytical reasoning, and persuasive writing abilities. At the Kern County Counsel’s office, he immersed himself in the complexities of public agency law, conducting in-depth research and drafting memoranda on matters ranging from Brown Act compliance to county election laws.

Anthony is deeply committed to serving the communities that shaped him. Growing up in the heart of California’s agricultural Central Valley, he developed a profound appreciation for the hardworking individuals and families who sustain the state’s farming industry. This personal connection fuels his passion for advocating on behalf of California’s agricultural sector. His work reflects a dedication to supporting the individuals and industries that form the backbone of the state.

Outside the office, Anthony prioritizes time with friends and family. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys golfing, fishing, hunting, and exploring California’s diverse landscapes.
